Midway Creative Group, received two finalist nominations for the 2021 Crystal Awards from the Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) for “Special Event Marketing” and “Promotion Products, Packaging & POP”.
Midway’s The Front Porch creative event series at Century Square in College Station, TX was a finalist in the category “Event Promotion: Two or More Events”. The feel-good live music series kicked off in September 2020 in tribute to the career beginnings of former Texas A&M students and country music icons, Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett. Featuring an open-mic format and performances by up-and-coming musicians on weekends from 7-10 p.m., The Front Porch has become an entertainment destination for College Station residents and visitors alike.
Bee Haven at East River was a finalist in the AMA’s “Product Packaging” category. In the summer of 2020, Midway installed two beehives on the 150-acre East River development site in collaboration with Alvéole, a social beekeeping company. The living colonies of honeybees require minimal resources and have introduced a flood of direct and indirect benefits in the urban environment, notably social and ecological. The 2020 harvest yielded 60 pounds of hyperlocal honey, which Midway packaged in 200 branded Bee Haven glass honey jars, complete with a honey dipper.
